How to set a cancellation reminder before a subscription renews
Streaming, a gym, cloud storage: you decided to quit. The next charge still went out. A cancellation reminder before renewal is a notice 1, 3, or 7 days before the next predicted charge. The app does not cancel the service for you.
If you already keep rent or a streaming bill in Smart Bill Reminder, you still need a date for the next hit. A cancel subscription before renewal reminder is that date, on the phone. Add the repeating charge first
The reminder uses bills you already saved. It does not log into a bank and it does not invent charges from email.
- Add the streaming, gym, or cloud bill the way you add any repeating bill.
- Save it on the device.
- Open Recurring audit from the bottom navigation.
If the group is missing, add at least one paid or unpaid row that repeats. Detection groups subscriptions and other repeating bills such as rent or utilities from what is already on the phone.
Free teaser vs Premium reminder
Anyone can open Recurring audit. What you can set depends on Premium:
- Free - a teaser with the name and amount. No cancellation reminder chips and no cancel links.
- Premium - expand a group. Turn on Cancellation reminder. Chips are 1 day before, 3 days before, and 7 days before the next predicted charge.
Turning the reminder on from empty selects 1, 3, and 7. Tap a chip to keep one of those days. An OCR-only unlock does not add reminders. Current purchase is Premium: a plan or a one-time buy in the app. Compare Free and Premium on the pricing page.
What the notification does
The reminder fires on the exact day you picked, not every day of the last week. You get it once at 7, once at 3, or once at 1, matching the chips you left on.
- Tap the body to open Recurring audit.
- If a provider page is known, an action labeled Cancel subscription opens that page. The app does not cancel for you.
- If no page is known, that action is missing. Cancel on the provider site yourself.
In Settings, keep the row for subscription price hikes and renewals switched on. If that row is off, the cancellation reminder does not send. Android also needs notification permission. The reminder uses the same bill-reminder channel as other due notices.
Limits and troubleshooting
- The date is the next predicted charge from bills on the device, not a live feed from the provider.
- No reminder on Free. Buy Premium in the app as a plan or a one-time purchase.
- No notify if Settings renewal notices are off, or if notification permission is denied.
- No cancel button if the app does not know a provider page. That is expected, not a bug.
- This is not a legal cancel guide. Follow the provider's own cancel steps.
Three short answers
Does Smart Bill Reminder cancel the subscription for me?
No. It reminds you before the next predicted charge. If a provider page is known, the notification can include a Cancel subscription action that opens that page. You still cancel with the provider.
Do I need Premium for a cancellation reminder?
Yes. Free can show a teaser list with the name and amount. Cancellation reminders and cancel links are Premium: a plan or a one-time purchase in the app.
Do I need an account or a bank login?
The list comes from bills you already saved on the phone. There is no bank login.
