How to find your subscriptions on Android - and which ones won't appear in Google Play

Android has a list of subscriptions, but it does not include every recurring payment you may have. Start in Google Play, then check subscriptions billed elsewhere.

This is a different job from finding forgotten renewals: you start with Google Play's subscription list, not an audit checklist.

Where the list actually lives

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top right.
  3. Choose Payments & subscriptions.
  4. Choose Subscriptions.

For the Google account you have selected, you will see subscriptions managed through Google Play, usually with price and next billing date. If the phone has more than one Google account, switch to the one that was billed - a plan on another account can still be in Play, just not on this screen until you switch.

If your subscriptions do not appear in the app, or the list looks empty even though you pay through Play, open the same list in a browser while signed in: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.

Google's official steps for managing and canceling (including that uninstalling an app does not cancel a subscription) are in Google Play Help. For visibility issues, see also fix subscription problems.

What stays off that list

Google Play is one source, not the master list. The Play subscriptions screen shows plans managed through Google Play billing for the account you are viewing. You will not see, for example:

  • subscriptions billed directly by the service, such as on your card,
  • subscriptions added by your mobile carrier,
  • plans bought on the service's website instead of through Google Play.

Those charges do not appear on the Play list, because Play did not handle the payment. You can have a complete-looking Play list while another charge keeps renewing elsewhere.

Where else to look

No single screen shows everything. Also check:

  • Bank or card statement - the same amount monthly or yearly,
  • Email - “receipt”, “invoice”, “subscription”, “renewal”,
  • Carrier bill - subscriptions billed through your mobile carrier,
  • Account on the service's website - payment history or “Manage subscription” in the provider's own settings (often clearer than a merchant name on a bank line).

Then keep what you found in one list

When you spot a charge, put it on one list instead of leaving it split across bank, inbox, and notes. In Smart Bill Reminder: tap +Add subscriptions, pick services from the grid, set amount and billing day. You can start without creating an account. If you think something slipped past you entirely, also see how to find forgotten subscriptions (checklist plus an audit of recurring bills you already entered).

Quick answers

Does the Google Play list show all my subscriptions?

No. For the account you selected, it shows subscriptions managed through Google Play. Direct charges from a service, carrier billing, and plans started on the service website stay off that list.

Does uninstalling an app cancel its subscription?

No. Uninstalling only removes the app. Cancel Play-billed plans in Google Play Subscriptions.

Does Smart Bill Reminder connect to my bank or Google Play?

No. It does not log into your bank and does not read Google Play. You add subscriptions yourself. After you add entries, you will see monthly and annual totals and upcoming payments. Full subscription audit features are available in Premium.
